ALMADRAVA BEACH

The name of the Cala Almadrava, comes from an ancient technique of catching the tuna that was used in Roses since the s. XVI until the first half of the s. XX. It consisted of a network-based capture technique. Cala Almadrava is also known as Canyelles Grosses, higher in comparison to another cove sister of her and neighbor, Canyelles Petites.

The waters of the beach are very calm and pleasant. The cove is protected from the wind of the “tramuntana”, which comes from the north. Its waters on the shores are shallow, so we will not notice large level changes as we move on. The surface sand is fine type and a golden tan color.

As we said, Cala Almadrava has all kinds of services of a large cove of family type. Excellently communicated with the center of Roses, from where it is possible to arrive by bus, on your beach we can also find showers, toilets, sun loungers, snack bar and even rent kayaks.

It is very important to note that it is also suitable for people with reduced mobility.
From Cala Almadrava, to the north, part of a round road that leads to Cala Montjoi, where the Bulli is located.
